Frequently Asked Questions

The Starter-Card-Ace -

  • : If I forget to declare it, what happens?
  • : That depends. Consult your booklet: "Playing Aces & Jokers in Hands & Cribs" for the details.

The Starter-Card-Joker -

  • : If I forget to declare it, what happens?
  • : Whoa?! Could this really happen?
  • : Who can use it in flushes?
  • : Everyone. It is a common card and completely unrestricted.
  • : If it made a flush in my hand can it then make a different flush in my crib?
  • : Yes. Jokers have any suit, anytime, for use in flushes and claiming 'nobs'.

Playing Aces -

  • : Can a high Ace, with point value of 11, be used with cards { 10, 9, 8, 7 } to make runs?
  • : No, only with cards { K, Q, J, 10 }.
  • : If I've already played a Joker as an Ace can I still play my Aces any way I want?
  • : If they aren't yet declared, yes. Jokers don't affect Aces.
  • : How do Aces play in the crib?
  • : In the crib Aces are unrestricted unless the starter card is an Ace. In that case, all Aces play what the starter card was declared (possibly two choices).
