Frequently Asked Questions

Playing Jokers -

  • : If I've played an Ace can I play a Joker as a different Ace?
  • : Yes. Jokers are unrestricted until played.
  • : If I have a Joker in my hand that makes a 5-card flush but I have to sacrifice it, do I lose the flush?
  • : Not entirely. You keep the 4-card flush made with your three remaining suited cards and the starter card.
  • : If the pegging round was terminated by a sacrifice before I played my Aces, what are their values?
  • : They are undeclared and, thus, unrestricted. Same for a Joker.

Advanced issues -

  • : What happens if a reversal puts me in stalemate?
  • : You move your galleon back to 179 with your anchor behind. You now need two scores to win - anchor to 180 (with "The Brigand's Booty" looming) then galleon to win - so your opponent might waltz to victory. This is an essential weapon for your arsenal!
  • : In an extended game, what happens if my galleon lands at 210?
  • : That's stalemate. Move your galleon back to 209 with your anchor behind.

Skunk Games and *Gamepoints -

  • : Are there skunk games in TurboCrib?
  • : Yes. Winning by more than 30pts is a single skunk (=2gp); by more than 60pts is a double skunk (=3gp).

*Gamepoint (gp) - used for keeping tournament score. A simple victory wins one gamepoint.
